Try right-clicking and saving the php file, see if that works (might be to do with the way windows/unix stores end-of-line characters).

Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t get the widget to work? I use the downloaded text to make popularity.php and upload it to my widgets folder. The plugin is active, but the widget is not showing for me to drag to my sidebar.

Try the version at Rue Plummet mine isn't developed anymore.

If you really want my version for any reason I'll dig through my archives, but I'd suggest you use one that's still maintained.

Two things:

I no longer use coppermine to host my photos. I'm currently using Flickr, with the fAlbum plugin to create the photos page. I still have my coppermine gallery, and lots of my earlier posts still have coppermine pictures integrated into wordpress using Rue Plumet's coppermine plugin.
There is still hope, however. As far as I know, no one has done a full integration of coppermine into wordpress, but.... if you're using the standard kubrick theme for wordpress (which I'm not anymore) there's a "workaround" - there is a kubrick theme for coppermine! While it won't actually USE the wordpress theme, you can make both themes look the same, and a normal user won't be able to tell the difference.
